Special Session - Budget Workshop
August 7, 2018

A Special Session and Budget Workshop of the governing body of the City of Trinidad was held on the 7th day of August 2018 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the City Hall in Trinidad, Texas, at which time the following subjects were discussed:

1. Call to Order: Mayor Larry Estes called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

2. Roll Call: Councilpersons present at the meeting were Roy Stanfield,, Beth Parker, Velma Womack and Kay Hernandez. Chris Quinn was absent

3. Invocation: The invocation was given by Velma Womack.

Chris Quinn entered meeting at 5:40 p.m.

4. Open forum: No comments made in open forum.

5. Ken Hayes - Henderson County Commissioner, Pct 1: Ken Hayes discussed the Interlocal Agreement between Henderson County and the City of Trinidad and how it works with a limited amount of money, $3,000.

6. Budget discussion: The Chief presented his budget. Hi request was for a new Tahoe police vehicle. He presented $187,823.18 in expenses which includes the police vehicle. This was an increase of $30,313.79. The two Dodge police vehicles have a remaining balance of around $24,000.

After all budgets were submitted, there was an increase of $65,212.15 over projected revenue.

7. Consider and approve Ordinance No. 2012-009, an ordinance prohibiting the discharge of fireworks within the city limits of the city: Motion was made by Kay Hernandez to not change the existing ordinance. Chris Quinn seconds the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

8. Adjourn: Motion was made by Kay Hernandez to adjourn. Velma Womack seconds the motion. Motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 7:18 p.m.
