CITY OF TRINIDAD
Minutes
Regular Session
January 2, 2018

A Regular Session of the governing body of the City of Trinidad was held on the 2nd day of January 2018 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the City Hall in Trinidad, Texas, at which time the following subjects were discussed:

1. Call to Order: Mayor Pro Tem Kay Hernandez called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

2. Roll Call: Councilpersons present at the meeting were Velma Womack and Chris Quinn. Roy Stanfield and Beth Parker were absent. Mayor Larry Estes was absent.

3. Invocation: The invocation was given by Chris Quinn.

4. Open forum: No comments made in open forum.

5. Work Session

• Report from TEDC: No attendance by TEDC.
• Report from Chief of Police on monthly violation activity and monthly code enforcement; review Mission Statement: The Chief presented his monthly reports, discussed ordinance enforcement with update on violations.
• Report from City Administrator concerning monthly financial reports: Bank account balances, check registers for General Fund and System funds were presented for review.
• Report from Municipal Judge: The Judge not in attendance.
• Report from Water Operator/Street Dept.: Valerie Hamrick submitted the report on work that has been completed and future work to be done.

6. Consider and approve revisions made to Ordinance No. 2018-001, an Ordinance of the City of Trinidad, Texas, providing zoning districts, zoning regulations, and standards for the development and use of land within the city; providing severability, open meetings and effective date clauses; providing penalties; and providing for related matters: Motion was made by Chris Quinn to approve the revisions made to Ordinance No. 2018-001, the Zoning Ordinance. Velma Womack seconds the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

7. Council Members Inquiry Time: Chris Quinn said he met with Economic Development's meeting on December 12, 2017 and felt everyone was in agreement to have a meeting between their board and the city council to review what business to market for Trinidad. A meeting will be schedule in January.

8. Convened into executive session at 6:50 p.m. pursuant to Section 551.074, Tex. Gov't Code to discuss direction of employment of additional personnel in Public Works

9. Reconvened into open session at 7:50 p.m. to take action as appropriate in the Council's discretion regarding employment of additional personnel in Public Works.

No action taken.

10. Consent Agenda: All matters listed under Consent Agenda are considered to be routine by the City Council and will be enacted by one motion. If discussion is desired, that item will then be removed from the Consent Agenda and will be considered separately.

a. Approval of payments of monthly invoices
b. Approval of the following minutes:

• November 2, 2017 Special Session
• November 21, 2017

All payments and minutes were reviewed. Motion was made by Chris Quinn to approve monthly invoices. Velma Womack seconds the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

11. Adjourn: Motion was made by Chris Quinn to adjourn. Velma Womack seconds the motion. Motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
